Pricing
Reading aloud with green and red word feedback is free, on the shelf and on your own books. Reader adds full translation of the books you own; Pronounced adds pronunciation coaching. Annual plans are shown first; switch to monthly if you prefer. Prices are in US dollars.
The plan picker needs JavaScript. The plans are Free, Reader ($79.99 a year or $9.99 a month) and Pronounced ($159.99 a year or $19.99 a month).
Billing questions
- Why is the yearly price shown first?
- A year costs about a third less than twelve months paid monthly. Both are offered; pick the one that suits you with the Yearly / Monthly switch.
- Can I cancel?
- Any time, from the Account section inside the app. Your plan keeps running until the end of the period you have paid for, and then you are back on Free. Nothing on your device is removed.
- Who takes the payment?
- Stripe, as the merchant of record. Checkout and the customer portal are Stripe pages; we never see your card number. Your receipt comes from Stripe.
- What happens when I reach an allowance?
- Translation pauses with a message that says when the allowance resets, and an upgrade is offered. Nothing is cut silently.
- Are there ads?
- No. Pronounced Pages is paid for by subscriptions only.
- Do I need an account to read?
- No. The shelf and read-aloud feedback work signed out. An account (a six-digit code sent to your email, no password) is needed for translation of your own books and for a paid plan.
